From PrintWorks/Pagina Förlag we received the book Telefonkonst for testing and writing a review about. We want to thank PrintWorks/Pagina Förlag very much for this.

Information on the internet: This book is for those who want to learn how to draw patterns and for those who appreciate creative relaxation. To draw repetitive patterns are also used as effective help for people with concentration problems and is good for therapeutic purposes. No matter what, it’s a meditative activity and an exercise in mindfulness. In this book you can’t just colour but also learn how to zentangle. A combination of both. I like this a lot about this book. Not just colouring or zentangling, but a combination of both. You get a step by step explanation in pictures of how to make a zentangle. This is easy because you even break the language barrier by doing this. I will show you some examples first of how the zentangle is explained. This is done in several boxes. When you copy it you have the same amount of boxes. Take a look at this example.

There’s also a double page with examples of zentangles. You can apply them in the drawings that are in the book if you want to. I will show you these example zentangles too.

There are designs in here as well. I will show some examples as well.

I drew 2 zentangles from the book myself. You have the option of building a zentangle step-by-step in 9 boxes as well. I myself found it easier doing the steps in one box, because then you will have 8 boxes remaining in case of a mistake, to try again.

I tried these zentangles.

And this is the result.

I also coloured in this book. I first coloured a design with pencils. I chose the Faber Castell Polychromos. They coloured very well on this paper. The pigment attached very well to the paper, which made adapting unnecessary. The colours of the pencils are displayed very well.

Next I coloured a design with felt-tips. I coloured with the Zig clean color real brush pens. These pens coloured very well on this paper. The ink dried nicely and remained in place. The paper is of a thicker quality, so you have no problems with any pressing through.

Conclusion : You learn how to draw zentangles in easy steps. Besides that there are some nice animal designs in the book as well. You could apply zentangles in the designs if you want. I didn’t do this because I thought it would be too busy. This book combines colouring and zentangling. I like this very much and haven’t seen this in any other book before.
