I always flip these kind of books with great joy. They’re very relaxing to colour and I think the words in the designs are very funny. The paper feels nice but we will test that in a moment. You can use lots of materials because the pages are printed one-sided. That is one advantage and another one in my opinion is the black background. This always makes the used colours stand out more. The designs are very rough, so my preference is to colour with markers or felt-tips in this book. Below some examples from the book.

I coloured my first design with Stabilo 68 felt-tips. They colour well on this paper and dry up well. The paper isn’t that thick but despite that the felt-tips don’t press through. Because the patterns are very rough the colouring goes swift and is very relaxing. The bright colours of the pens come out extra now because of the black background.

On my second design I used alcohol markers combined with the Bruynzeel Rembrandt pencils. I coloured the rougher design with the alcohol markers first. A piece of cardboard in between and then these markers colour nice and stripeless on this paper. The middle piece requires some more precise work therefore I used pencils in the same shades for this. The pigment of the pencils attaches well on this paper. Multiple layers makes the paper bulge a little. But after a night under something heavy that disappeared. I think this is a nice combination.

After testing all of this I must say this book is nice for variation. Not to difficult to colour and lots of materials can be used. Personally I think this book is suited for markers and felt-tips rather than pencils. But the paper is suited for pencils as well though. Another nice bonus is the test page in the beginning of the book, that should be the case in more books.
