We reviewed Swear word adult coloring book midnight edition from this series earlier. This book is also from the midnight edition series. All designs have a black background. I like that a lot, because the colours stand out more. The designs in this book vary from easy to rather laborious. This allows every colourist of any level to find something of his/her liking.

I will show you some examples from the book to give you an idea of what you can expect.

What I like very much is that there’s a page in the beginning of the book that has tiny boxes, on which you can test your materials. This way you don’t have to use a design for testing. I think this is a big plus.

Of course I started colouring. I picked a design for colouring with pencils. I chose the Faber Castell Polychromos. The pencil’s pigment attaches to the paper very well, because the paper is rather smooth. The pencils slide over the paper so to speak. I only needed little pressure on the pencils. I’m therefore very pleased with the result.

Next I coloured a design using felt-tips. I chose the Zig Clean Color real brush pens. These pens are a little wetter than normal pens. Because these pens can’t be used in all books I tested them on the testing page first. This went well so I started colouring the design I chose. Because the pages are printed one-sided, you have no problem with any pressing through. I did put a sheet of paper between the pages, just to make sure the ink didn’t stain on the next page. You can see the paper bubbling a little because of the water that’s in the ink. This remains visible after the ink has dried. I’m pleased with the result nevertheless.

Conclusion : This book is printed one-sided which I like a lot. This way you don’t have to worry about any pressing through. In the beginning of the book there’s a testing page for testing your materials on. This should be in every colouring book. You always have a place for testing your materials. Each book has a different kind of paper and you can test this very easily in that way. Pencils as well as felt-tips coloured very nice on this paper. You have to watch out with the more moist felt-tips though, because the paper will bubble a little. This is minimal however.
