From Bastei Lübbe we received the book Mein Herbstspaziergang for writing a review about. For this we want to thank them very much.

Information you can read on internet about the internet: Rita Berman, colouring book for adults. From architect and graphic designer Rita Berman this colouring book for adulst was published. You can tell by the beautifully detailed designs a professional designer has been at work here. You immediately feel the need to go walking in nature and find out what can be discovered outdoors.
Herbstspaziergang (Fall stroll)
Walking through falling leaves, smelling scented mushrooms and collecting some nice acorns or beech nuts. Enjoying the many colours of the leaves to get inspired for when you start colouring afterwards, drinking a large cup of tea or hot chocolate. After all, there’s nothing more relaxing than a nice stroll in the fresh air in fall or winter.

This book isn’t well known in colouring-land yet. But it looks promising. Nice fall-designs on what feels like good, firm paper. The pages are printed double-sided. Various designs of which some require rougher colouring while others need a more delicate approach. The book has a firm cover and it can be opened well, so you can colour all the way to the middle seam. Below some nice examples from the book.

I liked colouring the first design with the boots very much. It’s kind of like a zentangle design, which I find appealing. This design is coloured with Koh I Noor Polycolor pencils. The pigment of these pencils attaches well to the paper and can be bended very easily. The bright colours stand out well. The quality of the paper is very good and it can handle multiple layers of colours very well. The paper hardly has any structure, which allows the pencils to go over the design smoothly.

The next design really is about the fall and that’s why I used fall shades on it. I used the Tombow dual brush pens. This ink is very nice for blending and doesn’t press through to the other side of the paper. If in doubt I always use the last page for testing this. In that way you can always check whether the materials you want to use don’t press through. The ink of these pens flows nicely and dries quickly. I loved colouring this design.

In conclusion I can say this is a very nice book. Nice size and good paper quality. Printed double-sided, so not very suited for markers though. For pencils and most felt-tips this book is lovely. Filled with nice fall-designs, from delicate to rough. There are three more seasons in this series, so every season has it’s own book. I personally found this book very nice for colouring and of good quality.
