Simply color over the gray, matching light and dark tones to reveal lifelike shading. Saturate the grayscale with heavy color, use the lightest of touches or simply let it be. Flood the page with vibrant brights or allow a softer color palette to emerge. As the colorist, you are free to immerse yourself in the space between black and white, and explore the many shades of your imagination.
Printed on acid-free, archival quality paper, perforated for framing, each piece offers an opportunity to explore your inner artist. Use your colors to breathe life into the grayscale, and lose yourself in the process. Whether your happy place is toes buried in the sand, nose-deep in a bloom or on a mountain top, Beautiful Nature can take you there, if only for a moment.
Grayscale adult coloring books introduce a new way to color. It may appear a bit intimidating but these grayscale coloring books are surprisingly simple. Just let the gray guide you when deciding where and how dark or light to color. Your image will come to life with great detail and realism. You will be amazed! Perfect for both the novice colorist and the experienced colorist!
I’m really happy with this book from Nicole. Another beautiful copy with magnificent designs in grayscale. Printed one-sided so suited for using a lot of colouring materials. The paper again feels fine. Colouring these designs is a great joy to me and the options in this book are numerous. From flowers, plants until landscapes. Every design is unique in it’s own way. Before we continue I will show you some examples to give you an impression.
In front of the book there’s a nice explanation of how the colouring works. It’s in English, but easy to understand with the designs that go with it.
My first design with this nice dune really appealed to me. I coloured this one using Faber Castell Albrecht Durer pencils. These are waterbased pencils and I adapted them with a waterbrush. The paper is very suited for these pencils. It’s nice and thick and has absolutely no problems with the water from the brush. It stays nice and even and it doesn’t bubble at all. Because of the shadows that are already there, colouring this is also fun for starting colourists. I worked on this with great pleasure.
My second design, with the tulips, invited me to test pastel. I used the Bruynzeel and Derwent pastel pencils by each other. Put them on and adapted them with a paper stumper. It’s a real joy colouring on this paper. No complaints using the pastel either. It attaches well to the paper and even with multiple layers, you can still go over the same spot without any danger. I used 6 different shades of yellow, orange and red. They turned out real Dutch tulips.
Normally we also colour with felt-tips. This time I chose to colour one with markers, because this book is very suited for this. Felt-tips won’t be a problem in this book either. I used the alcohol markers from Spectrum Noir. Do put a piece of cardboard or paper under the page you are colouring. It works very nice and the ink doesn’t run at all. The shadows come out well, despite the ink of the markers. Again the paper doesn’t have a problem with the ink. And to be honest I think this creation came out beautiful.
I could colour in this book for hours. Can’t conclude anything other than that this book is a real asset to the colour world. A nice book for starting colourists as well as for the more advanced. Printed one-sided and the paper is nice and firm. Because of the perforated edges the designs can be removed easily for colouring and framing them afterwards if you like. Just a little different from the regular colouring books. Grayscale colouring is a relaxed and nice technique. I would say give it a try and I’m sure you’re sold. Have a look at an example of how the colouring goes.
